Hi, I’m Lauren and I’m so glad you are here

I’m a Somatic & Eco Therapist and Meditation Teacher. Most importantly, I’m a mother to openhearted young twins, living on the Sunshine Coast, and walking the raw, beautiful, and often overwhelming terrain of motherhood in all its wildness and magic.

After 11 years of infertility and IVF, I thought the hardest part was behind me. Instead, the transition into mothering twins showed me how intense the daily pressure can be.

Becoming a mother has been a sacred and confronting initiation for me. The early months (well a year or so) of motherhood brought an intensity I was not prepared for. Sleep deprivation, hormonal shifts, physical recovery from birth, and the constant sensory and emotional demands of caring for a baby all landed at once. Strong emotions rose in my body, sometimes suddenly when it came to caring for my babies. There was emotions such as anxiety, tenderness, anger, love and overwhelm often moved through me side by side. Somatic therapy helped me understand that my nervous system and body was under immense physiological and relational strain.

Living far from family support added another layer of feeling depleted without much opportunity to rest, be held, or share the load. Breastfeeding brought its own complexity, from pain and exhaustion to the emotional weight of needing to be available around the clock. Birth itself left an imprint too. Experiences that were frightening, overwhelming or not fully processed began to surface in the weeks and months that followed.

Alongside this, parts of my own childhood history quietly emerged. Early motherhood has a way of opening inner terrain we did not know was still there. Old needs, unmet longings and protective patterns came forward, often at moments when I was already depleted. I began to understand that much of what I was feeling made sense when seen through the lens of the nervous system, the body, and lived experience rather than through self judgement or pathology.

What has supported me through this is what I now offer others. Somatic therapy that works gently with the body and nervous system. Meditation that is responsive, fluid and centred around a mother’s nervous system. Time in nature that restores rhythm and allows you to feel quietly held. These have helped me feel more resourced, less alone, and more able to meet the emotional waves of early motherhood with compassion, understanding and ground.

This space is for women navigating the raw and tender season of early motherhood. For those carrying big emotions, physical recovery, birth experiences, feeding challenges and the absence of a village. It is a grounded place to land, where your nervous system is acknowledged, your experience is normalised, and your inner world is met with care and respect.

Here are a few personal things to know about me:

  • I am a Taurus who loves food, beauty and comfort. I feel most at ease in cosy, thoughtfully created spaces with natural light and personal touches.

  • Laughter with my two sisters is my favourite medicine. Even though we live on opposite sides of the country our phone calls (featuring noisy little humans) are some of my favourite times in the week.

  • My roots are Sri Lankan and English, and I hold a deep appreciation for the way lineage, culture and story live in our bodies.

  • I love to dance. Conscious dance and intuitive movement are my medicine, the place I go when words are not enough, I’m feeling edgy and my body needs to speak for itself.

  • The thing I miss most since having kids (other than getting out the door in under a minute and going to the toilet alone) is thru hiking with my hubby. I can’t wait for future family hiking adventures.

  • I am a dog and cat kind of person. Currently we share our home with a gorgeous ginger kitty called Ginny who is a total second mumma to the twins. She has given them a false sense of security when it comes to cat behaviour.
