The Nervous System Foundations Program for Mums

Four private sessions with Lauren (online)

Pregnancy, birth and early motherhood place an enormous load on a woman’s nervous system.

If you feel overwhelmed, reactive, anxious, flat or unlike yourself since becoming a mother, this private, body-centred support offers a place to slow down, be held and gently reconnect with yourself.

This is one-to-one nervous system support for pregnant, postpartum and early-years mothers who are holding a lot and need support that meets their body and heart, not just the mind.

Does this sound like you?

Motherhood may look fine on the outside, but inside you might be feeling:

  • on edge, snappy or reactive more often than you want to be

  • anxious, wired or unable to truly rest

  • numb, flat or emotionally shut down

  • overwhelming guilt or shame after losing your patience

  • disconnected from yourself, your body or your sense of ground

  • exhausted holding the weight of birth, fertility, loss or earlier life experiences

  • Not ok and not sure where to turn

If you recognise yourself here, these sessions are for you.

The Nervous System Foundations Program for Mums is a focused four session program that directly supports these needs.

Together we:

  • Explore how your nervous system is responding to motherhood

  • Identify patterns of activation, shutdown and regulation in your body

  • Gently build resources for steadiness and support

  • Work with both self-regulation and co-regulation

  • Create space for integration

This private program is designed to be held within a clear container.

All four online sessions are to be used within six months of our first session together, so the work stays alive and supportive.

How this private program works

What this support can help with:

  • overwhelm and feeling constantly on edge

  • snapping, reactivity, mum rage, and the guilt after

  • anxiety, looping thoughts, and never fully switching off

  • numbness, fog, shutdown, and disconnection from yourself

  • feeling touched out, overstimulated, and noise-sensitive

  • old patterns resurfacing under pressure

  • knowing what you need and how to ask, without guilt

By the end of the 4 sessions, you’ll have:

  • Clearer awareness of your patterns and triggers
Recognise what tips you into overwhelm or reactivity, and the early body signs before it takes over.

  • A personal map of your nervous system in motherhood
Gain clear language for what’s happening inside you.

  • Practical ways to resource yourself when you’re at your edge
Learn small, realistic tools you can use in the middle of real days.

  • More capacity to allow feelings without being taken over by them:
Build skills to stay with emotion in your body so it can move rather than hijack you.

  • A steadier relationship with overwhelm and reactivity
Create more space between trigger and reaction, with more choice in how you respond.

  • A stronger sense of what you need, and how to ask for it
Get clearer on what helps and what drains you, and practise naming needs with less guilt.

  • A softer way to meet your body as it changes
Understand how hormones, sleep deprivation, and constant responsibility shape your inner world, so you can respond with care instead of pressure.

  • A felt sense of steadier ground
Find a more anchored place within yourself that you can return to again and again.

    Creating Safety to Begin

The first session is about arriving. We slow things down, build trust, and create a sense of safety in your body and in the space between us. I listen deeply to your experience of motherhood and what you’re carrying, so your nervous system can begin to soften and feel supported as we start this work together.

Get To Know Your Unique Nervous System

We map how your system moves through connection, fight or flight, and shut down in your real life . You get to know your personal signs in the body, your common behaviours and the core beliefs that show up in each of the three nervous system states. This helps shift the story from “I am too much” or “I am not coping” to “this is my nervous system trying to protect me”.

  • Number 2 over a background of white flowers with a blurred effect

    Understand Your Triggers And Glimmers

We explore what tends to set your system off and what brings even a small sense of softening. Triggers are the things that pull you into anxiety, anger or collapse. Glimmers are the small moments that help you feel a little more safe, connected or present. Together we create a simple triggers and glimmers map that speaks directly to your everyday life.

  • Number 4 in gold overlay on a blurred background of white flowers

Learn What Your Regulating Resources Are

We turn everything you have learned into a practical support plan. We identify realistic regulating resources that fit mum life, not fantasy self care. You receive simple somatic practices to help you come back toward steadier ground when you feel overwhelmed, on edge or numb, so you do not have to guess what might help in those moments.

How this work is different

This is not a parenting method or about managing behaviour or striving to be calmer.

This work focuses on you - your lived reality and your unique nervous system.

Through a somatic and embodiment lens, we work with your body as it is now. With curiosity, care and respect for how much you are holding presently and from the past too.

When your nervous system feels safer and more supported, presence and connection with yourself and children tend to follow naturally.

Who is this program for?

This support is for you if:

  • You are pregnant, postpartum or parenting young children under 3

  • You feel overwhelmed, anxious, reactive or shut down

  • You want support that honours your nervous system and lived experience

  • You are open to a body centred approach

This may not be the right fit if you are looking for fast fixes cookie cutter, parenting techniques or performance-based coaching.

Support that works for real mum life

Here is how we can make this work for you:.

  • Babies welcome in the early months

In the first six months, your baby is welcome to be with you in session. You can feed, change nappies, rock, walk around or have them sleep on your chest. Nothing is an interruption, it is all part of the work.

  • Online (via Zoom), flexible and nervous system led

Sessions are held online via Zoom, so you can join from your home, car or favourite quiet corner. You are welcome to arrive exactly as you are - even if that means in your pjs in bed. We go at the pace your body and nervous system can genuinely hold.

  • You do not have to come every week

We will find a rhythm that feels supportive rather than like another pressure. This program is designed to work alongside motherhood, not add pressure to it.
