How to Work With Me - A Simple Guide For Mums

People often ask how they should work with me and there is no single right way.

Mothers come here in different seasons with different nervous systems need different kinds of support.

Hopefully this is a simple map of the ways you can work with me or benefit from my offering, whether you want deep personal support, gentle guidance, or something you can move through in your own time.

Private nervous system support

If you are feeling overwhelmed, reactive, anxious, flat, or like you have lost yourself since becoming a mother, my four session Nervous System Foundations Program For Mums may be the right place to begin.

The focus is on your nervous system and how your body is responding to motherhood, stress, sleep deprivation, isolation, and experiences that may have been stirred by pregnancy or birth.

Across four sessions, we slow things down. We map your nervous system, build regulation resources, and support your capacity to feel more present and connected within yourself and in your relationships.

Self-paced online courses

I currently offer two self paced online courses.

One is a 5 day audio focussed somatic (body based) meditation course for mothers navigating big feelings like rage, grief, overwhelm, numbness and more called It All Belongs. Across the five days you will be supported to come back to yourself, to feel more grounded in your emotional world, no matter what is moving through.

If you want an ongoing framework you can return to, The Embodied Mother 21 day course offers nervous system education and somatic support designed specifically for mothers. This is not a parenting program but a space to understand your nervous system, inner world so you can meet yourself with more compassion and clarity.

Self-paced low cost resources

In the shop, you will find paid resources you can move through in your own time.

These are low cost options for mothers who want support without live sessions. Many women use them alongside private work or The Embodied Mother Course. Others use them on their own.

Free resources

If you are new here or feeling depleted, start with the free resources.

These are short, accessible offerings that help you understand what your nervous system is doing and why. You do not need to do them all. One small moment of awareness is enough.

Insight Timer App and Embodied Transitions Podcast

I have several free meditations and a course titled the Wild Edge of Motherhood available on Insight Timer.

I also have a podcast on Apple Podcasts called Embodied Transitions where I share short talks and meditations every few weeks.

Writing and reflections

My blog The Soft Ground is another way to benefit from my work.

I write about motherhood through a nervous system and somatic lens, including overwhelm, shame, rage, numbness and repair. Many mothers tell me a single post helped them feel less alone or finally understand what was happening inside them.

My Newsletter Community

You can also opt into my fairly light touch newsletter list. I generally touch base here every month or so with updates on blogs, offerings and reflections. You also get my free E-Book Somatic Practices for Mothers as a thank you offering for joining.

Where to begin

Some mothers start with a blog post. Some with a free resource. Some know they need personal support straight away. There is no wrong place to start. If you need a personalised suggestion please reach out to me at laurenlhowe@gmail.com
